Rebecca (Reynolds) Harrell

Rebecca Reynolds Harrell, 76, of Midway, TX; passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021, in Midway, TX. She was born in Ellwood, TX, on August 4, 1945, to Milton and Annie Reynolds. She was their 11th child of the 14 born to Milton and Annie. Rebecca went to Madisonville High School and graduated in 1963. She married her beloved husband, Jim Harrell, in 1963, and they were married for 58 loving years. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Walton Reynolds, Jack Reynolds, Buddy Reynolds, and sisters, Sunnie Greer, Marie Lohner, Beth Spiller, Grace Wall, and Rita Slaughter-Davis. She is survived by her husband, Jim Harrell, son, Doug Harrell, and his wife Dawn, her daughters Jennifer Harrell and Savannah Ferguson, and her husband, Mike. Her grandchildren Cam Coleman, Morgan Harrell, Michael Harrell, Mallie Drake, Bralee Harrell, Amber Currie and her husband Cody and their sons Cannon and Kyler, and David Harrison. Sisters in law, Janey Reynolds and Barbra Reynolds, Brother in law, Billy Davis, Brother Reed Reynolds and his wife Betty Ann, Betty Ann Neal and her husband Les, Vada Robertson and her husband Lee, GG Reynolds and his wife Nita, George Reynolds and his wife Betty, Sister in Law, Sharon Reynolds. Forty-six nieces and nephews, hundreds of great-nieces and nephews, and many more extended cousins and inlaws. Becky; was a safe haven, a giving tree, her family's mighty oak of righteousness – known for her outward beauty, but her greatest gifts were on the inside - love, generosity, and strength. Rebecca shared her spiritual gifts of wisdom and selfless generosity to everyone that knew her. She was an upbeat person. Even as a child, no matter what the circumstance, she would find the good in everything. She loved shedding God's light and love to everyone she met, especially her beloved husband, her 3 children, her 5 grandchildren, whom she delighted in and doted on. In Becky's presence, you could feel the friendly warmth and loving grace of Jesus Christ. Becky was a fabulous self-taught pianist. She played piano and organ at her church Ellwood Baptist, where is was a devoted member for many years. She enjoyed God's creation and spent much time tending her gardens and raising her chickens. She loved learning and reading, and she was exceptionally bright and witty. Becky loved spending her time with her family. She always enjoyed sharing her advice and memories of her childhood. She was eager for all of them to know their roots and where their joy would come from, Jesus. She never missed an event, a play, dance recital, or a football game, she especially loved all the Reynolds family get-togethers. Becky has always been our encourager, a listening ear, a cheerful giver, and prayer warrior. She stood firmly upon the solid foundation of Jesus Christ, all the days of her life, and she left a beautiful example of a Proverbs 31 woman. She and her husband were entrepreneurs for many years. They owned gas stations and tire stores in Madisonville and Midway. Always eager to help the family, community, and church. Though Rebecca spent the last years of her life fighting a rare brain disease, she will be remembered for the lively, upbeat, funny, sassy, gorgeous woman that she was. She often said jokingly, "looks were never my problem". She was a light for sure. She will be greatly missed by all of those who adored her, and that's a very lengthy list of family and friends. Visitation will be at Day Funeral home, August 6 from 5–7 pm, and the celebration of her life will be officiated by her nephew Jody Slaughter at Ellwood Baptist Church; August 7, 2021, at 10am, Day Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. .
