Mary Lou (Andrews) Bristow

September 17, 1933 - November 18, 2020

Mary Lou (Andrews) Bristow was born in Houston, Texas on September 17, 1933 to Sterling and Grace Andrews. On November 18, 2020, she peacefully passed away at her home in Lewisville, Texas and entered eternal life with her Lord and Savior. She was a precious gift to all who knew her and will be missed every day. We take great comfort in imagining her heavenly reunion with her husband and many other loved ones. Mary Lou grew up in Houston, graduating from San Jacinto High School. She continued her education at Baylor University, where she met Charles Bristow, her husband of 65 years. They had three children and spent twenty years in Dallas raising their family. In 1985, they moved to Midway, Texas, where they lived for almost thirty years. Mary Lou was a teacher by nature and profession. She taught first and third grades in Richardson (Lake Highlands) and Madisonville schools, where she was loved by her students and co-workers. She taught third grade Sunday School for twenty years at First Baptist Church of Dallas, and then taught young married women at First Baptist Church of Madisonville during the thirty years that they lived there. She was a faithful servant, with a big heart and a beautiful smile. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles Bristow, as well as her parents, Sterling and Grace Andrews, her father and mother-in-law, Roy and Christine Bristow, and her brother, Jimmy Andrews. She is survived by her children, Becky Graham, Laurie Shanks (Earl), and Chuck Bristow (Rhonda); her grandchildren, Jennifer Graham Guerra (Richard), Brooks Graham (Jamie), Drayton Shanks (Lauren), Sterling Shanks(Meredith), Christian Shanks, Brenson Bristow, Blake Bristow and her beloved great grandchildren. A private service will be held in Madisonville, TX.
