Joyce McFalls Ware, 80, formerly of Madisonville passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010 in Bryan. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM Friday, February 26th at Day Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Lanier Stevens and Bro. Lyndal Privett will officiate. Burial will follow in Cross Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5 – 7 Thursday, February 25th at Day Funeral Home Chapel.
Joyce was born November 7, 1929 in Waco to Carroll McFalls and Katie Bell (Shepherd) McFalls Hanks and was married to Walter J. Ware, Sr. She was an avid sports fan following such sports teams as The Houston Astros, The Dallas Cowboys, and The Texas Aggies. Joyce, herself, enjoyed many outdoor sports activities including water skiing and bowling. While living in College Station, she worked as The Director of Activities at The Villas of Rock Prairie and was a member of A & M Church of Christ. Joyce was preceded in death by her dad, Carroll McFalls; her husband, Walter J. Ware, Sr.; her daughter, Martha Nell Comer; her sister, Peggy Comer; and her brothers, Buck Carroll Jack McFalls, H.W. McFalls, and Mike McFalls. Survivors include her mom, Katie Bell McFalls Hanks; her sister, Shirley Odom; her daughter, Sandy Ward and husband Don, Sr; her grandchildren, Buddy Ward and wife Liz, Wendy Andrews and husband Richard, Cody Ward, Blake Ward, and Terressa Ward; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Lauren, Sydney, Savannah, Ashley, Kaitlyn, and Randall; and step-children, Cheryl Morris, Walter Ware, Jr., and Judy Kay Carter. Serving as pallbearers are Buddy Ward, Cody Ward, Blake Ward, Richard Andrews, Bryan Odom, and A.J. Becvar.
