William Birch, 84, of Normangee passed away Wednesday, December 02, 2009. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday, December 7, 2009 at Day Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston. The family will receive visitors from 2-6 PM Sunday, December 6, 2009 at Day Funeral Home Chapel. William was born July 25, 1925 in Houston, Texas to James Benjamin and Emma (Cooper) Birch. William served in WWII as a medic and received a Bronze Star and Medal of Honor. He was employed at Maxwell House Coffee for over 23 years in Houston. William was a member of Ten Mile Church in Normangee. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James, Thomas, Melburne and Joseph Birch; and sisters, Emma Birch and Evelyn Seabourne. Survivors include his wife of over 62 years, Mary (Campbell) Birch; daughter, Shirley Williams and husband, Kenneth; grandsons, Paul Williams and wife, Melanie and David Williams; and great grandson Trenton Williams.
