Jack Jordan celebrated his 106th birthday on April 7, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellawe (Brown) Jordan, 3 sons; Aaron Jordan, Sr., Marion Jordan, Sr. and J.B. Jordan. He leaves to morn his passing 3 daughters; Ora Lee Brown (85 yrs old), Catherine Washington (83 yrs old) and Othella Holley (79 yrs old), 38 grandchildren, 115 great grandchildren and 140 great-great grandchildren.
Jack loved to fish, hunt, dance, sing and play the harmonica and whistle. He taught some of the grandchildren how to whistle and they have a loving recollection of him teaching them. He was twitty and loved the outdoors. At his 104th birthday celebration, when interviewed by the Madisonville Meteor Community newspaper they wrote:"He loved to hunt and dance", Jordan's three daughters said of their father. But, they didn't need to brag on his dancing because it was obvious Jordan had rhythm. "He shook and rattled as best as he could in his bed. His smile lit up the room - and his energy was inspiring."Jack spent his last 6 yeas at the Madisonville Care Center, and his friends at the center said they loved hearing him play the harmonica and seeing him smile.
