Blanche Shaw, 78, formerly of Madisonville passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2009 in Houston.  Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Day Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Sue Allred will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Joyze Cemetery.  The family will receive visitors from 5-7 PM Friday at Day Funeral Home Chapel.

 

Blanche (Goodrum) Shaw was born January 21, 1931 in Madisonville to Willie and Ocie Mae (Adams) Goodrum.  Blanche worked for Parkway Hospital in Houston for over 30 years.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Ocie Mae Opperman and Jo Waldrip.

 

Survivors include her children Bobby Shaw and Cheryl Schoenberg; grandchildren, Nicole, Michelle, Travis and Angela; brothers, Buddy Goodrum, Dude and wife, Joyce Goodrum, Kenneth and wife, Janine Goodrum, Sonny and wife, Belinda Goodrum, Wayne and wife, Carmelita Goodrum; sisters, Mozelle Hutcherson and Belle Trash.

Blanche will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was an amazing woman that I am glad to have had the oppritunity to have in my life. May God bring the whole family comfort in knowing she is not in pain any longer. Blanche was like a grandma to me. I will truley miss her.
