Derric Malone, 43, of Madisonville passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 at his home.  Derric was born July 11, 1965 to P.V. Malone and Joe Helen Scott in Jasper, Texas.  He attended Jasper Independent School District and went on to graduate from Jasper High School in 1983.  After graduation, he joined the United States Army.  He joined the Nation of Islam in 1994.  He was a member of the Rising Star Lodge No. 7.  Derric attended the Angelina College Policy Academy and becam a law enforcement officer in 2004.  He was currently employed by the City of Madisonville Police Department.


Survivors include his best friend and mother, Joe Helen Scott; father, P.V. Malone; children, Hieko, Mieko, Izaiah (mother, Charlesetta Malone) and DeAndre Hickman; sisters, Nicole Raven, Crystal Mahathay (Bobby) and Monica Beatty (Marcus); grandchildren, Hieko and Semaya; 4 uncles; 2 nieces, and 3 nephews.

Daddy, I love you and I will always be your only daughter. I love you though I always didnt say it or show it. You will forever be my Man, my Daddy and my First Love. You took care of me and raised me and gave me everything I need. I am sorry for whatever I done or didnt do as a daughter. I love you and I still and will always need you. I miss you so much Daddy!
