Sally Ann “Burtis” Lindsey, 74, Madisonville, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Funeral services are scheduled for 2PM on Thursday, April 7th at Day Funeral Home Chapel with the burial following at Jozye Cemetery. The visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, April 6th from 5 – 7PM at Day Funeral Home Chapel.
Sally was born in Madisonville to Julian and Sallie “Wilson” Burtis and was preceded in death by her parents. Sally was a member of the Madisonville High School Class of 1954 where she was voted “Most Beautiful”. In 1987, Sally was instrumental in the formation of what is now known as “MHMR” whose sole purpose is to promote the welfare and to improve the services and quality of life for many in our community. Sally was an avid collector of cookbooks, a doting mom, and a loving wife. Survivors include her husband of over fifty-five years, Neil Lindsey; sons, Mike Lindsey and Gary and wife Rhonda Lindsey; grandchildren Landon Lindsey and Joe Lindsey; brother, Sonny Burtis; and other family members and friends.
