Willie Vaye Rivers, 95, of Madisonville passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, January 8, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Madisonville. Burial will follow in Jarratt Cemetery in Jacksonville, Texas. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 PM Friday, January 7, 2011 at Day Funeral Home Chapel.
Vaye was a friend to all and she had a smile for everyone. She never met a stranger and had a kind word for those she met. She was a very loving devoted wife and mother. Vaye was a member of First Baptist Church of Madisonville and the Deborah Sunday School Class. She loved to read and work crossword puzzles. She was always ready for a good game of 42. She was an avid sports fan and on Thursday and Friday nights you could find her at Mustang Stadium or gym supporting her team. Vaye was a ray of sunshine to all those that knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her father Henry David Senesac, mother Mary Ella Cockrell Senesac, son Billy Harold Walker, Jimmy Allen Walker, and daughter Mary Lou Huggins.She is survived by her husband Reuben Rivers, sister-in-law Thelma Hooper of Mesquite, TX, daughter-in-law Marty Walker of Whitehouse, TX, sons, Gerald Ray Walker of Longview, Randy Walker and wife Cynthia of Madisonville, Richard and Marilyn Rivers of Alto Pass, IL, daughter Ruby Reed and husband Larry of Dallas, grandsons Greg Standley and wife Lynece of Palestine, Jeff Standley and wife Cheryl of Jacksonville, Jace Walker and wife Nicole of Tyler, William Walker and wife Erica of California, Jerald Walker and wife Natalie of San Anonio, Matthew Walker and wife Lee of Garland, Brian Standley of Palestine, Jeff Rivers of Alto Pass, IL, granddaughters Wendy Lee of Tyler, Meredith Jinks and husband Mike of San Antonio, Jamye Read and husband Royse of Whitehouse, Mary Margaret Walker of Madisonville, Martha Vaye Walker of Madisonville, Katelyn Rose Standley of Jacksonville, Jennie Nelson and husband Ben of Peoria,IL, Stacey Reed of California, Becky Clark and husband Jason of Arkansas, 17 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and numerous neices and nephews.
