Leon Grisham, 71, of Madisonville passed away Friday, November 26, 2010 in Temple. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Day Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Riley officiating. The family will receive visitors from 5-7 PM Friday, December 3rd at Day Funeral Home Chapel. Following the service on Saturday everyone will go to the American Legion for food and fellowship.
Leon was born June 30, 1939 in Madisonville to Louis Leal Grisham, Sr. and Sarah (Harrington) Grisham. He graduated from high school when he was sixteen years old and graduated that same year from The General Electric Certification Program. Leon was a journeyman machinist where his co-workers all called him “Astro” for the majority of his life working primarily in Houston while living in Pasadena, until his retirement back in Madisonville. He was an avid hunter, and when he loved you, he truly loved you with his whole soul. Leon was saved by the Grace of God, and although he did not attend church regularly, he believed he could be one with God, especially when out in the woods. Leon was preceded in death by his parents; his son, William Leon Grisham, Jr. (known to many as Bill); his grandson, Travis Lynn Grisham; his brothers, Wayne Allen Grisham, Louis Leal Grisham, Jr.; and twins, Floyd Grisham and Loyd Grisham. Survivors include his wife, Dolores Elaine Grisham; daughters, Sarah (Jeanie) James and husband, Richard Lee James and Charlotte Ann Jones; son, Charles Lynn Grisham; sister, Charlene Scholz; brother, Roy Gene Grisham; step-son, Robert West; grandchildren, Mark Anthony Dozar and wife, Lisa, Thomas Edward Dozar and wife, Heather, Brandie Meshell Harrell and husband, Jesse, Barbara-Hope Elaine James, Andrew Grisham, Sydney Grisham, Chrystal Bice, Darla Waddle, Erika Vilo, Farah Vilo, Cassandra Grisham, William T. Grisham, Nellie Rose Grisham, Charles Leon Grisham; great grandchildren, Tyler Rodriquez, Clayton Edward Dozar, Allison Paige Harrell, Raegan Elise Harrell, Travis Grisham, Megan Grisham, C.J. Grisham, Kaden Grisham; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
