Edgar Cheairs, 70, of Madisonville passed away Thursday, November 19, 2010 in Bryan.  Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Day Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive visitors from 9-10 AM prior to the funeral.  Burial will follow in Boggs Cemetery in Austonio, Texas. 

Edgar was born December 23, 1939 in Austonio, Texas to Josse Vernon and Mildred (Tyler) Cheairs.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of 46 years, Judith Ann Cheairs; sister, Wilma Hefty; and brother, Dennis Cheairs. 

Survivors include his wife, Elsie (Tippit) Cheairs; son, Johnny Cheairs; daughters, Janita Coleman and husband, Ernie and Janette Alvarado and husband, Alex; step-daughter, Brenda Sheffield and husband, Ken; step-sons, David Allen Dyess and Donnie L. Dyess; sisters, June Sides and husband, Harold, Vernell Mancuso and husband, Benny and Janiece Halton and husband, Robert; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Edgar was a very talented musician who has joined the Angel Band.
