Bub was born August 21, 1931 in Huntsville to George and Ethel “Lowry” Adams.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Kenneth Adams (who died in the 1947 Texas City Disaster); and his sisters, Mozelle Wehmeyer, Imogene Gannaway, and Nina Adkins. 

Survivors include his sister, Rita Bunker and her husband Eddie; his nieces Paula Staley, Rhonda Smallwood, and Dianne Harmon and her husband Tommy; and his nephews, Donnie Gannaway and his wife Donna, George Robert Gannaway and his fiancé Leah, and Gus Wehmeyer and his wife Anna. 

Bub was a survivor of the 1947 Texas City Disaster which claimed the lives of over 600 residents of Texas City.  He was a lifelong bachelor, and having no children of his own, Bub was a very loving and caring uncle treating his nieces and nephews as his own children.

Bub was a good man. He and I had talked recently when I visited Mother at Riverwood, and I had looked forward to visiting with him more. I did not know about his death until after the service - or I'd have been there. I'm so sorry.
